Our Voices Together as One
As well as hearing the voice of Greenpeace (environmentalists) and The BP Oil Company, society's own voice needs to be heard. Us three, (Brooke, Hayley and Rania) are going to speak on behalf of society's perspectives, by giving our own opinions on this pollution.
"Pollution in Antarctica causes great loss to creatures, the pure water and ice, which are the habitats of these suffering animals due to oil spills. Not only do oil spills create a big problem for the animals and land, but soon all this pollution will be thrown back into our faces. More and more pollution is given to the earth through cars, greenhouse gases, oil spills etc. All of these pollution types cause global warming. Global warming is the after affect of all these human pollution and we must stop it. I know that these oil spills weren't performed purposely, but all I can say, is that oil companies should be a little more careful with their job if they want to look after the world, rather than trying to kill it." - Rania
"My perspective on pollution in Antarctica is that is needs
to stop. Animals and more are suffering from this fate of flotsam, food chain
disappearances and global warming. Antarctica is one of the least polluted
places on Earth and is also one of the most beautiful. If Antarctica was to be
polluted more and more it would cause more global warming green house gases etc.
I would never want such a place like Antarctica to be polluted or
anything." - Brooke
"This issue, topic, event is about: human impacts on Antarctica
and emission of greenhouse gases that warm the atmosphere and cause ice to melt.
The reasons for my point of view is that since Antarctica is one
of the last untouched places on the planet and we should protect its environment
and wildlife. We shouldn't exploit and strip Antarctica of its beauty. When we
pollute we are damaging the sea and global warming melts the ice leaving less
habitat to already endangered animals. Antarctica should remain the wild place
it was supposed to be." - Hayley
